Bottle Design
University Project
2017
Inspired by ancient amphorae and the cultural legacy of olive oil in the Mediterranean, Amphiphoreus is a modern packaging concept that connects functionality with storytelling.
The design pays tribute to the origins of olive oil transport in Ancient Greece, where amphorae were used to store and move what they called liquid gold. Drawing from mythology, particularly the legend of Athena and the sacred olive tree, the bottle honors the deep cultural and historical roots of olive oil.
The product consists of three components:
A ceramic base (10×10cm) that anchors the design,
A 500ml glass vessel shaped for both elegance and grip,
And an innovative dropper cap made of acrylic and silicone that allows for precise, vacuum-assisted pouring of up to 10ml, perfect for home cooks, restaurant tables, or professional kitchens.
Designed for contemporary users who appreciate tradition, Amphiphoreus reimagines how we serve and celebrate olive oil, blending ritual, utility, and heritage.
